This is a notes page for teaching interrogative words. It can be used in Spanish 1 or any other level for a review. The answers/content is included. This can be projected and used for direct instruction or independently.

This bundle combines the Unit 4 Lesson 1 in the Avancemos 2 Curriculum for the Legend of Popo and Ixta along with the chat mat. The chat mat will help Novice High students in the section where they ask the questions they wrote about the story to their partner. The 4-1 legend has activities, the chat mat serves as scaffolding for students to open, ask and answer original questions and then close a conversation.

This is an info gap for students to practice the vocabulary from Unit 4 Lesson 1 in Avancemos 2 textbook. Students need a partner. The first section on both student A and student B is where they read a statement to their partner and the partner will write on their own paper if the statement is true or false. The second section is where each student will read a description or definition and the partner will identify the vocabulary word from the word bank on their own paper. This is great listen

This is a presentation that practices vocabulary in context for Lesson 3-1 in Avancemos 2. I use white boards in class with these activities but it can be assigned as homework or used in other ways.

This is a mad lib activity for the holiday season for Spanish class. It can be used in intermediate levels. Students fill out the list of parts of speech and then go and fill in the story with their selections. I usually have them do it on the google slide (they make a copy) and add it to the show so we can read the stories together as a class.

This activity is a great interpretive reading for Avancemos 2 students. Students read the text (included after the worksheet) and then complete the graphic organizer and drawings to demonstrate their understanding and takeaway of the vocabulary for Unit 4 Lesson 1 in context. Then, they draw a picture with speech bubbles to illustrate their takeaway of the story with a description in Spanish. There is a basic rubric included but you can adapt any interpretive rubric to suit this assignment.

This is a chat mat targeted for Novice High interpersonal speaking. This is very scaffolded and offers a strong structure for students to have a foundation in asking and answering questions in complete sentences. Part 1: This section is solely for forming a question and then answering it in a complete sentence with a reason.  Part 2: This section has an opening and closing. The middle section is section 1 from the second slide (it’s sandwiched between the open/close structures).

This is a coloring sheet that can be used in any level for 5 de mayo! This can complement a culture/history lesson or be used as a sub plan/fast finisher assignment. The Mexican flag is left blank for students to color in accurately.

This is a vocabulary comprehension sheet to accompany the vocabulary list for Avancemos 2, Unit 3, Lesson 1. Students fill in the vocabulary words in English AND have to identify true/false statements, translate short sentences into English and write original sentences.

This is a paired activity that uses vocabulary from Avancemos 2 Unit 3 lesson 1. The first section for both parters is to read the sentence out loud and then the partner doing the listening will indicate cierto or falso based on if the sentence make sense. The second section on both pages is to read the definition out loud to their partner and the one listening will write down the vocabulary word that is being described. The answer key is included.
