I have experience teaching Spanish to K-8 and have been teaching Kindergarten and first grade in a Spanish immersion school for the last thirteen years. It is so exciting to see my kids learn a new language! I have been a part of the SLA/ELA curriculum writing team in the district, representing the Spanish immersion school for Kindergarten, worked on creating assessments based on CCSS, and have helped grow an immersion program.

I believe that children are very important for shaping our future. Children’s minds are like sponges, when they are growing they are impressionable and have the ability to learn many things. Many of their core beliefs and views in life come from their early experiences, a big part of which is through their education. Through viewing each child as an individual, creating personal connections and exposing students to the diverse world around them, I am able to help children become well-rounded members of society.
