In this fun beginning-of-the-year activity, students list their favorites on the front page without writing their name. On a second page, they then draw a self portrait. Classmates and visitors must guess who it is without looking at the second page! This is a great activity for open house!
Pages are great for copying back-to-back, stapled together, or, as I do in my classroom, glued onto a folded 11 x 14 in. piece of construction paper.
Turn your persuasive writing lesson into a seasonal activity that is sure to be a hit! Santa needs elves to help him get ready for the holiday season and needs students to apply! After filling out their application information, students must write a persuasive letter to Santa to tell him why they should be chosen to be one of his special helpers.

Put together in one 19-page document, this unit breaks the chapter book into 4 sections.
