Simple, easy to use syllabus template for those teaching Algebra 1 using Standards Based Grading. Headings are labeled with space for you to insert your own class and school policies on learning objectives, materials, communication preferences, attendance, school discipline, and electronic devices. Grading categories are standards assessments, student journal, and final exam with detailed descriptions of each category.

This assignment is used in my class as a free-response/performance task portion of the final exam, but can be modified for use anywhere during the last part of second semester algebra 1 The task involves creating 3 mathematical models for 3 different investing scenarios. Each scenario represents one of the following: linear equations, quadratic equations, and exponential equations in multiple representations, and there are follow up analysis questions.
