About the store
The power of YET. During my first years of teaching, I didn’t realize the power of yet. Now, after 13 years in the middle school classroom, I know how important it is to have a “yet” mindset. Students certainly don’t have it all figured out yet, and many times, neither do teachers. Teachers visit TPT when they want something an experienced teacher has created for their classroom because they do not have the time to create it. I hope that I can add value to your classroom and help support you and your students this year!

This resource includes a "Water Cycle Diagram" student worksheet, a teacher key, and a link to an interactive web resource that allows students to read about the water cycle online. The online resource includes three different versions -- beginner, intermediate, and advanced -- so you can differentiate in the classroom for your students if you need to. Daily Bellringers Student Response Sheet

Available as both PRINT and DIGITAL worksheets in Google Slides format, these bellringer sheets are a great way to get all of your students engaged from the start of class. Hand these out at the start of the week and give the students prompts to allow them to write, draw, or both for a few minutes at the start of class each day. I collected these at the end of each week and graded based on participation, accuracy, creativity, or all of the above.

The power of YET. During my first years of teaching, I didn’t realize the power of yet. Now, after 13 years in the middle school classroom, I know how important it is to have a “yet” mindset. Teaching style

Science lessons that follow the 5E model -- engage, explore, explain, extend, and evaluate -- put a structure in place that help reach adolescents in middle school and high school. Piaget originally proposed how children's intelligence and abilities change as they grow, and this understanding is important when designing science lessons. Piaget referred to the concrete operational stage (ages 7-11) and the formal operational stage (ages 11 to adulthood). My teaching style is hybridized -- some days I am the facilitator or coach, and other days I am a lecturer. How I teach is dependent upon what and how I intend to teach the topic.

For me, preparing the products you see in my store is a lesson in yet. I’m taking time this year to post one item every day to my TPT store. I hope these resources can help you engage your middle schoolers in meaningful science lessons.
