Schoology or GoogleClassroom Bitmoji Classroom/Banner

Everything in here is editable. I did not lock any of the items on the slides in case you wanted to move some of the items around or remove some. The Bitmoji person in each slide is me and these slides are the exact slides I used for my own classroom. There are themed slides and plain room slides. Each month I had a different theme and tried to keep it as neutral as possible. I teach a very diverse group of students in public school, so I did my best to not hurt or leave anyone out. Everything o

GoogleForm Digital Attendance Forms

These are digital attendance forms I've used recently. They not only help keep track of attendance but can also be used as mood-meters. I've been able to keep more accurate attendance with these the past year and a half. I've also been able to catch when students' moods or feelings shift based on their answers for the last part of the form. Each form has a different theme: Hocus Pocus, Harry Potter, The Grinch, DC comics, The Avengers, Dragon Ball Z...Right now there are now 27 different forms a

Mood and Tone GoogleSlides

This GoogleSlide presentation has been a huge hit with my students. I teach students from inclusion to college prep level and they all love it. They especially like the part where we watch a variety of movie trailers and discuss the tone and mood of the trailers. The trailers are embedded into the slides from YouTube. My students are very visual learners so I made sure to add a lot of pictures and clips for them. I hope your students enjoy the lesson as much as mine do.

Digital Exit Slips/ Digital Exit Tickets

This is a Google Drive file of all 20 exit slips/tickets I personally use with my students. Each slip has its own Google theme and set of slides. I use these in my English classroom, but most of these can be modified to be used across other curriculums as well. They are generic enough that they can be used for any story, novel, poem...pretty much any literature, but they are grounded enough that administrators love to see them used. The kids also like that they are colorful and easy enough to do

Storyboard Project for any literary work

This storyboard project is one that I have done with my students for a few years now. It is challenging but also fun. I've used this with several different plays and novels across a few different grades. It promotes choice within the confines of a comic strip/storyboard. I've used the website storyboardthat.com but recently you need to pay for it so I've become less inclined to use it. However, Canva lets you set up a free educators account and so can the students. You can create this project on

Multiple Intelligences Novel/Play Assessments

This project was designed with the wide range of learners that I have in my classroom. There are actually 14 different project options on here. I usually have my students take a multiple intelligences quiz. It is for fun and the students are not locked into a specific type of intelligence choice. They can pick whichever they want. Since there are so many different choices the kids are usually very receptive to doing this assignment. Multiple Intelligence Quiz

Weekly Novel Journal Entry for any novel

I like to use this for weekly journal entries instead of giving guided reading questions sometimes. It allows the students to show you what they enjoy most about what they are reading and it assesses their understanding of what they read. It is interesting when students pick the same lines to quote and they interpret their meanings differently. You could also expand this to peer review and have students share what they journaled with one another. I provide the students with my own model so they

The article “The Persecution of Witches, 21st Century Style” from The New York Times is paired well with The Crucible. I include a hyperlink to the article directly in the text. We usually read at least half of it together as a class and then they are able to answer most of the questions on their own. Most students are surprised to find out all of the information from the article and are eager to make a connection between the two texts. New York Times article

This storyboard project is something that I've used a few times with my students specifically for A Raisin in the Sun. However, I also modified it to fit A Streetcar Named Desire. I've done this as a partner project but I've also given it individually. There are three different types of storyboards the students can create to exhibit their understanding of the play. This is leveled well enough that I've used it for both Inclusion classes and College Prep classes. They can have the choice of pick

September 11th Headline Poem Project

Overview: Students will create a "found poem" using headlines from a website they are given on the assignment sheet. I usually give kids about a week to craft their poems and they've always turned out very well. Although this is a very sensitive subject, it is a very important part of our history and should be remembered with reverence and respect. While researching and combing through the different headlines the students get to see many perspectives of that day. I give my students a decent amo

This assignment came out of a need to give my students some creativity during our virtual learning. I call it Meme Drop Monday because I started doing in on a Monday plus I enjoy alliteration. I give the kids an option to upload a meme on to the blank slide on my already created google-slide presentation. Their meme can be original or one found trolling the internet. They have three choices on the type of meme; I want them to pick only one to complete. (This adds a small element of differentiati

I like to do graphic organizers with my students when we are reading novels. I usually do this one as handout but because we are 100% virtual I took my old had written version and turned it in to a GoogleSlide presentation. Students can type directly in the text boxes to answer. I have my students use cited evidence/quotes to give a solid example of the trait they are choosing to showcase. I like using the dark background because it is easier on the eyes, plus it looks like an old fashioned blac
