Hi! I am actively in the classroom serving as a STEM instructor to 5 sections of amazing STEM students! I am a master teacher with 15+ years of experience in the secondary science classroom. I also have one year of experience in curriculum and instruction (Science K-8). I am highly qualified with differentiating instruction for students who receive special education services and learners who qualify as GT. I'm PBLWorks certified, experienced with TinkerCad and 3D printing, and I run a full shop of power tools with my middle school students.

Lab Safety Stations: This colorful and engaging set of eight stations is the perfect way to introduce lab safety to students* during the first week of school. Bilingual Word Wall/Flashcards: This complete set of bilingual (Spanish to English) cards come in full color, each on 8 1/2 x 11'' paper with easy to read titles and descriptions (preview shows 4 cards on one page but purchased product will have one card/page). Students using these cards will benefit from seeing them in a word wall setting or as flash cards for personal use. Bell Ringers
Bell Ringers: Students enjoy engaging in a quick entrance or exit activity at the start and completion of class each day. This bell ringer activity sheet allows each student to complete two weeks worth of bell ringers (print double sided to save paper!). I use this bell ringer activity page in my secondary science classroom but it can be adapted to any subject area or grade level.

I love to engage learners young (and young at heart) in exploring, discovering, wondering, and being joyfully curious about the world around them.
Awards & shining teacher moments
I am currently serving as a mentor to a total of 12 Alamo city educators in the Firstmark Credit Union/San Antonio Museum of Science & Technology Educator Fellows program. I have served in the capacity of department head and other leadership roles on my campus on and off for 5+ years. In my early years of teaching, I received the "Pre-Service Teacher of the Year" award from my professors at the completion of my Masters program in 2009. My classroom was selected as model co-teach classroom for observations when our district was a finalist and ultimately won the HEB School of Excellence award for the best large school district in 2011. My own education history
I hold a Bachelor of Science with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I also am the first generation in my family to hold a Masters degree--I earned my Master of Arts in Education in 2009.

I am a Gryffindor, a Swiftie, and a backyard chicken enthusiast. I love to read both paperback and audio books. My dream home is a hobbit hole. I am passionate about encouraging joyful curiosity in children young and old (and most of all, in my own little ones at home).
