STEM Lessons

This lesson will guide students through the basics of using the online coding program Scratch. As they learn new techniques and skills in Scratch, they'll be developing a deeper knowledge of patterning with guided tasks, challenges, handouts and hands on activities in Scratch.

In this lesson, students will learn to recognize the value of optimizing surface area when presented with a fixed volume. Students will achieve this using the two provided handouts which guide them through an inquiry based lesson in which they develop strategies for optimizing values.
