This complete unit on teaching the metric system is designed for secondary classrooms. The unit covers everything from the prefixes and converting within the metric system, to a comprehensive conversion table that shows students how to convert from metric to standard and back again. This unit also contains a number of simple mass, volume, and density labs that show students how to use the metric system in real applications.

This is an update to the previous Engineering notebook. I have added a Word document copy of the notebook. This is what I print out, comb bind, and give to my students every quarter for my STEM engineering classes. There is also a Publisher document, so that you can edit it to match what you do in your room, and put your personal touch on it. Enjoy.

This is a complete inquiry lab, that will have your students coming up with their own hypotheses, testing, redesigning, collecting data, and thinking critically about their designs. This is intended as a scientific method introductory lab, but can be used in any number of settings. Inquiry lab sheet, directions, and suggested research sites included.
