About the store
I have been a 5th grade, self-contained (12:1:1) Special Education for the past 9 years. Recently, I changed roles and am now the STEM education coordinator. STEM education gives children the opportunity to interact with 21st century tools, that they wouldn't normally be exposed to during an average school day. STEM helps to open my students eyes to careers that they may not have known existed before. I love teaching this program, and I enjoy the flexibility in curriculum, which allows me to target multiple learning styles in the same lesson.

Teaching style

My teaching style is one of assertive discipline. I hold respect for teacher's and classmates at the forefront of my discipline policy. Every students ideas are heard and built upon. My classroom nurtures an environment for learning and academic rigor by utilizing my students higher order thinking skills, and increase their ability to infer meaning from text.

Additional biographical information

Last year our school, along with I.S. 303, and John Dewey H.S. collaborated to create a fully robotic replica of landmark structures around Coney Island, Brooklyn. This project received a lot of media coverage. Especially because the project was powered utilizing renewable energy. The project is now housed in our STEM Education Lab, and is the highlight of the room.
