The teacher will read the book We're Not Weird: Structure and Function in the Animal Kingdom by Michael Garland. As the teacher reads, the students record three new facts about an animal and draw a picture to accompany the information. Then, students will be able to create their own unique animal using information from the book. This book aligns with the Next Generation Science Standards on adaptation, structure, and function for kindergarten through 3rd grade. With supplementary information
Students will use the free platform, Google CS First, as an introductory to computer science.
