This is a ppt that presents quantitative data describing the state of the world in the year 2021. It focuses on the depletion of five key natural resources: fish, forests, fossil fuels, forests and minerals. Data is presented in tables and a brief analysis is given after each table. The main purpose of these slides is to allow students to think about world affairs while getting some practice with numeracy skills.
This is a simple project that students can do individually or in a group. It allows students to have a little fun with numbers and help them remember what prime factorization is. The posters can make excellent decorations in your classroom, and they are really easy to mark.
This is a great project to introduce students to graphing data. They create a survey question of their own, ask 30 people, draw a graph by hand or with a computer that includes a title, axis labels and scales. Then they can present the findings of their survey to the class. The marking is done by peer and self assessment. Its a nice activity to put the student's learning in their own hands and help them remember how to make good graphs.
This is a fun way to introduce or review fractions. It describes the steps for the fundamental operations of fractions including common denominators, multiplicationa dn division, reducing fractions, converting fractions into decimals and vice versa, and changing between improper and mixed fraction form. Dress up like a wizard to enhance the experience.
