Experience

I have been teaching for 19 years. I taught elementary grades 1st, 3rd, and 5th. I taught middle grades social studies and science 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I taught high school Biology and Earth/Environmental Science. I am currently working as Instructional Technology Facilitator K-5. I coach, model, and co-teach with classroom teachers showing them how they can incorporate more STEM and computer science activities into all subject areas.

Teaching style

My teaching style is a student-centered approach where students are in charge of their learning with the teacher as a guide or facilitator. I have students work collaboratively to problem-solve and think critically. I tend to follow an "I do, We do, You do" routine guide students through the content. I also incorporate the design thinking process for students to work through.

My own education history

I have a BS in Elementary Education and a MA in Education with an emphasis in gifted education.
