Experience

I have been a teacher and/or media specialist for 21 years in the elementary school setting. Prior to becoming the school media specialist/library, I taught kindergarten, second, third, and fifth grades.

Teaching style

I teach at a STEM certified school that is certified both internationally thru Cognia and the state of Georgia. I encompass the STEM philosophy in everything that I teach and create. I believe that all students should learn through integrated, hands-on learning that is most importantly, FUN!

My own education history

I have a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Early Childhood Education along with my gifted and reading endorsements. I also have two Specialist degrees in both Educational Leadership and School Media.

Additional biographical information

I am an elementary school Media Specialist/ School Librarian. I love teaching, planning, and collaborating! My husband, and elementary school science teacher, and I have been married for almost 20 years. We have two sons who are in elementary and middle school. My family loves to watch sports...especially college football (go Georgia Bulldogs) and the Atlanta Braves! We love to travel all over in our RV, and we spend our summers traveling the United States and Canada.
