Teaches a variety of creative writing skills (i.e. varying your vocabulary, creating a "twist in the tale", adding descriptive detail) with plenty of practice tasks built in to help students release their potential.
Guidance on how to read over and enhance what you have written. Includes examples where students are challenged to improve extracts and then shown where these could have been edited. Key performance criteria also incorporated to show what examiners will look for in a story. Follows on from my "Boost your Creative Writing skills"
Complements teaching of creative writing. Aim is to encourage students to maturely reflect on their experiences and share their personal stories with sympathetic readers. Various skills covered, including identifying exactly what reflection is and how to mind map ideas to create an organic flow to your essay. Many different writing stimuli included to help students decide what they want to write about.
Match the words with the definitions. All the words chosen are more obscure but being exposed to them will help students, 16 years or older, to expand their vocabulary, so they can write with greater sophistication and clarity. There are also a couple of additional slides highlighting points of grammar.
