About the store
I earned my bachelor's degree in biology and took a couple of years to decide what to do with it... In that time, I served as a substitute teacher in a couple of school districts. It was not long after when I realized that education was where I was meant to be. I got my Master's degree in Science Education and am currently teaching middle school science.

Introductory Light Reflection Lab
Students use laser pointers (could use flashlights) and mirrors to demonstrate how light is reflected off a mirror.
5th - 8th

Slinky Lab- Wave Activity
Students use a Slinky to demonstrate how longitudinal and transverse waves move through a medium. Most of my kids had never seen a Slinky before and you would not believe how awesome they thought this activity was! This was a simple way to get them engaged with their peers, engaged in the content, and off of their iPads! Beware: Students will beg to play with the Slinky for weeks after this activity.
5th - 7th

Smart Gum Experiment- Introduction to the Scientific Method
Students enjoy a stick of gum while learning about how the steps of the scientific method are applied to a real life experiment.

Additional biographical information
The goal of my TpT store is to provide reasonably priced resources to science teachers- nothing is "cutesy" in the store (hello Times New Roman!). I leave that to you in order to keep my price low and so I have more time to prep more resources for myself and for you. All of the activities can be done with limited supplies and require minimal prep work.
