I have taught for 20 years in the public school system. I began my teaching career in Maysville, Kentucky instructing High School JROTC students. After which, I taught 5th graders at Gray's Creek Elementary School in Hope Mills, North Carolina for 4 years before departing for Nashville, Tennessee. Experience

I have taught for 20 years in the public school system. I began my teaching career in Maysville, Kentucky instructing High School JROTC students. After which, I taught 5th graders at Gray's Creek Elementary School in Hope Mills, North Carolina for 4 years before departing for Nashville, Tennessee. Since arriving in Nashville, I have taught both 4th and 5th grades.

Teaching style

I incorporate lots of cooperative learning strategies into my lessons. I feel it's so important to get all students actively engaged in the learning process. I strive to know what motivates my students. Regarding my classroom management style it's structured and I strive for high time on task. My motto is "All the children, all the time."

My own education history

I earned my Associates Degree in Management Studies while serving in the United States Army. After I retired, enrolled in Fayetteville State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a minor in history. Shortly after my arrival in Nashville, Tennessee, I earned a M.E.D. in school administration through Trevecca Nazarene University.

Served more than 20 years in the U.S. Army. Currently, I am retired from Davidson County Schools, after serving 20 years in public education. Enjoy reading, writing, exercising, and playing the guitar. I am also a songwriter, entrepreneur, and reside in Spencer, Tennessee.
