I served as a Computer Teacher and Technology Coordinator in the City of Chicago for 10 years. Now I have moved on to other ventures after meeting my wife and new family. We are planning a relocation to my home town of Edwardsville, IL. I will be adding many more documents in the coming days and weeks.

Feedback Jar for Behavior
This file contains cutouts that can be used to design a jar or other storage device that will be used to track and monitor the positive and negative feedback of a student or class. For each time a student or class earns a positive comment the jar receives a "PRAISE" note, and at the same time, each time a negative comment is heard, the jar receives a "CONSEQUENCE" card. Then at the end of a fixed time period, the items of the jar are reviewed to measure gains or losses and discussions made.

The purpose of this document is to help students organize their outside of school time. Especially those who are easily distracted by game systems or television. It also contains breaks in between homework so that if there is an issue with large amounts of homework, the student will be able to have a little free time to relax while working.

Experience

Teaching style
My teaching is mainly visual through the use of PowerPoint presentations and LCD Projectors. As a computer teacher, grant writer and computer technician, I always had plenty of examples to show my students.
Awards & shining teacher moments
In 2004, I received a grant from the Social Security Administration for over $20,000 worth of used computers to rebuild and restock the classrooms of my school with computers. Then in 2009, Limeade for Learning, a Sonic brand, through Donor's Choose, granted my request for a new LCD projector and two web cameras so that I would be able to communicate between our two computer labs and then throughout the world via Skype.
My own education history
Most recently, in December 2010, Walden University awarded me my Masters of Education Technology degree. Prior to that, Throughout the 2000-2001 school year, I served as part of a cohort student teaching program at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. My original degree was earned in 1994 from Western Illinois University in Macomb. This was a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a Minor in Computer Science.
