This can be used as a reference sheet or information sheet about "How to Read a Textbook" and the components in the textbook. I will provide the follow up student activity that includes going through a textbook and identifying important parts. Any feedback is welcomed!

This is a unit plan that includes worksheets, learning goals, and success criteria. I have created it as a word document so it can be easily edited and adaptable for many grades. There are lessons and activities after the 12 day unit plan description and ideas.
This is a presentation on a variety of ways to incorporate fun vocabulary activities in the classroom. If you need further guidance and lessons, I am happy to share those with you, free of charge! These vocabulary activities can be easily adapted for a variety of grades and levels with appropriate word choice.

Can be used for most junior and intermediate grades. This worksheet provides prompting questions about the plot, characters, setting, and resolution. It also asks students to give their opinion of the story.
Students can practice analyzing and critically looking at their textbook. It may help them become familiar with the textbook at the start of the school year. This is also an introductory activity I use with my students that are enrolled in the OSSLC course.
This is a follow-up activity to the events from The Giver when the main character is assigned a mandatory job. I also included an answer page for each of the questions.
