The CIS model has been effective in most content areas. The idea is to use the same piece of complex text over and over for different purposes. I write the plans and then fill in the dates as we achieve each goal. Florida teachers will be using this model in the coming years.

The days of the week are named by clues in the crossword puzzle. Students can practice spelling the words. Also has Spanish translations for the days of the week. Great for ELL students.
