Learning Lieder - A Listening and Musical Analysis Exploration
Teach your students about the genre of 'Lieder'. And help them expand their listening skills with an assignment that breaks down the lieder Erlkonig (The Elf King) by Franz Schubert. The assignment is linked to a recording of the lieder with an accompanying animation to help with the analysis. This helps students recognize how music can use many textures to create a full story. It also gives students an introduction to one of the largest genres of collaborative piano music.

Laura also serves as the Director of Outreach for the University of Utah School of Music and in addition to serving as music school faculty, she enjoys performing locally and accompanying her voice students.
