About the store
I have been teaching for 19 years (Elementary Education, Middle School Social Studies, and Technology), and have integrated tech into my classroom every step of the way. I am also the founder of the first school Linux club in North America (The Community School of Excellence Asian Penguins) and its successor clubs (The Aspen Academy Penguin Corps and The Lake Middle School Penguin Corps). I sought to create ways for kids to learn, have fun, and impact their communities through Linux and Open Source software. In addition to this, I have also been a technology integrationist, a technology coordinator, and an assessment coordinator. I have written several articles about Linux in school and have taken teams of students with me to present at many educational and technology conferences. Interested in getting Open Source in front of your students? You don’t have to start from scratch, and you don’t have to be an expert! These lessons, all tested by my students, will get YOUR students going with Free and Open Source software, and having fun in the process.

It isn’t uncommon for people to hear words like “Linux” and “open source” and worry that they do not have the technological skills to learn. However, the resources here

Teaching style

I like to use a gradual release model: I do, We do, You do. I try to give students a guided head start and then let them get their hands dirty with hardware and software.
