About the store

Experience

I am a middle school student leadership advisor from California. My classes usually consist of about 20-30 students and we meet for about 55 minutes a day. Our student government is responsible for running a student store, promoting school spirit through school-wide activities, rewarding students and teachers, putting on dances, and many other things.

Teaching style

It is my strong belief that my role is not to be a member of student council again. My role is to facilitate conversations, help students make informed decisions, and guide students through the many leadership and organizational activities. Students make all of the major decisions; I just make the process a little easier.

Awards & shining teacher moments

My greatest honor is being a teacher!

My own education history

My greatest source of inspiration and motivation in my role as leadership advisor is my experience in student council as a student. Growing up, I was always involved in school leadership. I was class president in 6th – 8th grade, and in high school, I served as publicity chair and student council vice president. This experience is something helps guide many of the decisions I make as student council advisor. I graduated from the University of California, Davis with highest honors in English, then completed both a single and multiple subject credential at Cal State University, Long Beach.
