About the store
Twenty one years ago I started a rural Kentucky district's first elementary art programs. I was equipped with a cart, bucket, closet and mop sink! Though my preference was secondary education I spent eighteen years teaching elementary art. I will finish the last third of my career in my sweet spot teaching high school students painting, drawing and ceramics.

About the store

Experience

Twenty one years ago I started a rural Kentucky district's first elementary art programs. I was equipped with a cart, bucket, closet and mop sink! Though my preference was secondary education I spent eighteen years teaching elementary art. I will finish the last third of my career in my sweet spot teaching high school students painting, drawing and ceramics.

Teaching style

I use the workshop model but am moving to a self-paced model.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Best Teacher in Technology award from Anderson County, Kentucky school district 2007.

My own education history

I am a certified visual art K-12 art teacher with a master's degree in education and national board certificate in art education.

Additional biographical information

I learned early in the profession that art education is poorly funded and if I wanted high quality models and presentations I would have to make them myself. I am currently working on a digital library of visual art content resources. The digital content is much more entertaining than my lectures. It engages all of my learners and enables them to learn content at their own pace.
