This product includes 10 PowerPoints that teach students to use partial sums to solve two-digit addition equations quickly, in a manner that supports mental math. At the end of each presentation are 8 questions (4 per slide) for students to solve.
These PowerPoint slides help students learn how to decompose the number 7. Five sets of slides are included. They all serve the purpose, and are mostly similar, but the slides appear in a different order to help prevent kids from simply memorizing the answers. The presentation starts with slides with 7 cubes split into two parts (addends), the first of which is uncovered and the second is covered (by a paper bag). When you click, the second part becomes uncovered, and an equation is revealed
The primary focus of this product is 5 PowerPoints. These PowerPoints use tens frames and counters to show students how to quickly know the answer to +5 facts. After that, they have students quickly answer +5 facts (without the tens frames and counters – removing the scaffold). These PowerPoints are essentially the same, just with slides in different orders (to help make sure students are not merely memorizing the answers). Also, this product includes a word document that can be used to print fl

15 worksheets are provided. These are used to have students practice splitting words into a base word and affix(es). The first 10 worksheets have words with just one affix. The last 5 worksheets have words with two or more affixes. The affixes that are used, and their meaning, is provided at the top of each page. NOTE: For many words, determining the meaning is as simple as combining the base word and the meaning of the affix. For example, "tallest" means "most tall." For some, the wording might

These PowerPoint slides help students learn how to decompose the number 6. Five sets of slides are included. They all serve the purpose, and are mostly similar, but the slides appear in a different order to help prevent kids from simply memorizing the answers. The presentation starts with slides with 6 cubes split into two parts (addends), the first of which is uncovered and the second is covered (by a paper bag). This product includes 5 PowerPoints to help teach +1, +2, and +10 facts. These PowerPoints are nothing special. My experience has been that the overwhelming majority of students learn these facts quite easily. This is just something simple to use to make sure students understand how to add 1, 2, and 10.
This product is two simple second-grade shapes tests (2 pages each). One is labeled as a practice test. There is nothing special or difficult about the test. It is meant to test very basic knowledge regarding polygons, triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and cubes.
THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE A STANDALONE LESSON. There is one PowerPoint that teaches six addition facts, in part by emphasizing the relationships between these facts. These are 3 + 6, 3 + 7, 4 + 7, 6 + 3, 7 + 3, and 7 + 4. I put this together because my other addition within 20 resources cover every fact (often repeated in multiple lessons), other than these six. Flash cards for these six facts are included. Also, there are 5 PowerPoints that teach students how to handle addition within 20 with a
This product includes 5 PowerPoints (6 questions each) that teach students to use partial sums, in a manner that facilitates mental math, to add two-digit numbers, with sums over 100.
This poster breaks down how I teach long-vowel spellings. Obviously, there is room for debate on some of the details. I teach that there are two long u sounds (compare "rude" and "cube") because I believe this approach helps students, but some will explain these patterns differently. Also, some very infrequent patterns are excluded (but others might see fit to include them). Patterns that are green are used frequently and patterns that are red are used rarely (although they are used enough that
These worksheets (2 pages) are very simple. They are meant to provide practice for how standardized tests often test partitioning rectangles (to make sure students understand what is being asked).
This writing graphic organizer is tailored to narrative writing. I have included suggestions for the use of temporal words (part of the relevant second-grade standard). Terminology and preferences in writing are important. For this reason, I have included an editable version of this resource to make it easy for teachers to make any edits they desire.
The two posters included are used for text-dependent writing. The posters are very similar, but one is less detailed and the other is more detailed. In my opinion, the first poster is more appropriate for 1st grade and the second poster is more appropriate for 2nd and 3rd grades. However, one good ways to use these (if it makes sense for your class), regardless of the grade, might be to teach using the simpler poster and then to transition to the more detailed poster. Also included is a simple g
