I believe teaching is both science and art. Each student is unique and will respond differently to each lesson. I also believe strongly in identifying each student's level of mastery. We need to teach students at their level, (Vygotsky called it the "Zone of Proximal Development"). Knowledge is built like a pyramid. Students cannot build the second level until the first level is solid. I believe in constructing strong conceptual foundations to build upon. You will see that some of my worksheets may seem overly simplified. I assure you, there are students who need to build those basic blocks in order to master difficult concepts
