For every 5 books your student reads, they will move up their ice cream scoop accordingly to the cone representing their accomplishments. (All you need to do is move the scoop) A fun visual for them to keep track of all the books they are reading! Or, you may choose to let them make a new scoop for each time they move up to a new "club". Some students really like this because it allows them to take home a visual as w

Highlight classwork to make everyone shine using a "jar of fireflies" that your students personalize with their name and coloring. This is one you can use all year if you choose. You may want to use it at the beginning of school to help your students know they have come to the right room-let them color a firefly at "Open House", they can easily find it on that first day of class. Or, you can use it at the end of the year as your students are "shining and flying away" to the next grade!

About the store

Experience

I have taught grades K-2, for twenty three years! What a ride! I hope you will be able to use TPT. If so, you may find it will save you time for your own family as welll as make your teaching prep-EZ! I loved using it for my own classroom - I hope you will love it too!

Teaching style

Creative activities that make learning fun and inviting. Give students hands on projects, they'll love it!

My own education history

In addition to my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, I also have a degree in Commercial Art and Advertising Design. Artwork was actually my first career. During my teaching career, I integrated lots of lessons with drawing in some form or another.

Additional biographical information

I also paint quite a bit (watercolors and acrylics). I still like to incorporate art in my handouts and worksheets. Just like you, when I was in the classroom I created many of my own worksheets and tests. I hope you will use my products to highlight your students' work as well as make your classroom really engaging and show off your students' classwork.
