Have taught 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade math in a wide variety of school settings and climates with additional experience writing math curriculum for high school courses.
Students will practice writing and graphing real-world inequalities on a number line. Here, students will be able to also focus on keywords that indicate what inequality symbol is being used to represent the solution. Included:-Worksheet with 9 real-world practice problems where students have to write/graph the inequality.
In this inequality discovery, students will develop a conceptual understanding of when to keep (preserve) and flip (reverse) the inequality symbol by testing out a variety of operations with both positive and negative integers. Can be used digitally or as a hard copy. Included:-Inequality Discovery Graphic Organizer -Answer Key
In this activity, students will use an equation to solve for other measurements (sometimes the x or the y value). There are 2 examples and 3 practice problems. Students will fill in the tables for the missing values. Included:-Worksheet (examples + practice) Note: This resource can be used as a hard copy or used digitally.
Get your students into the habit of drawing models, writing equations, and labeling their units in division word problems! Can be used during instruction or for extra practice.
