Notify parents of their child's current reading level by sending this note home during conferences, or any time of the year to keep them updated. I have added the recommended levels for grades K-3 and I circle the level where the child started the year to show growth.

This is a generic organizer for use with any story you are reading independently or whole group. Students write the title of the book read, describe the setting with prompts and a place for a picture of the setting. On the same page, it asks students to choose a character and describe that character using evidence from the story. There is also space for a picture of that character.
