Assessment checklist for Addition and Subtraction problem solving.
This is a simple checklist which can be worked through across the year and allows the teacher to assess where the children are placed according to their ability to answer addition and subtraction problems with increasing levels of difficulty. It is a good checklist to help you group students according to their needs for teaching specific lessons.
1st - 3rd

20 simple addition basic facts to practice daily.
A great way for children to begin to practice simple addition facts. I make this sheet into booklets of about 10 pages and the students start each lesson completing one page. They usually want to do more than one! They can use concrete materials to help them or use other startegies they are learning such as the 'counting on' strategy. Sometimes we use a timer, just for fun!
