About the store
Dr. Jacqueline Sund: Retired college professor in the field of design, I spent the last 6 years as a volunteer tutoring kindergarten and 1st graders. Horrified at the lack of attention to handwriting education in today's classrooms, I set about to design a more efficient way to both teach and learn this essential fine motor skill. Handwriting is a complex activity which contributes significantly to brain development and is directly related to both math and reading competence. We cannot afford to drop it from early education as it is quite foundational.

Demonstration Cards for handwriting instruction- Sunshine Script
Traffic light colored dots guide students for starting, turning and stopping in Sunshine Script letter formation of upper and lowercase letters and numbers 0-9. PDF file works with Promethean or Smart Boards.
Teaching Recommendations:
Students may follow teacher demonstration in their Beginner Tracing Booklets, Tracing or Scripting Workbooks, or practice large body movement at the Promethean or Smart Board.
These cards may be posted along classroom walls and used as reference for letter/nu

Dr. Sund holds a Doctorate of Education from Seattle University and taught at the University of Washington and Western Washington University.
