This is a Halloween themed self-paced "choose your own adventure" type activity were you are searching for various monsters in the school in order to capture them. This is done by analysing motion maps / motion diagrams. There are three motions featured in this activity: constant motion, increasing (speeding up), and decreasing (slowing down). After you determine what the motion is, you are asked to calculate where to put the "trap" in order to catch the monster.

This is a spreadsheet that shows numbers from base 2 to base 36, and how they compair to our standard base (base 10). All bases go out to the equivalent of 5,000 in base 10, but since it is a formula, you could extend it further if you wanted. All the 10, 100, and 1000 values are highlighted.

I started out as an engineering major, but switched to physics about half way through. After I graducated with my B.S. in phyics I eventually went back for a Masters in Education, and I've been teaching ever since.
