Before teaching I worked for several years as a para-professional, assisting K-5th teachers. Following my role as a para I student taught in first-grade and loved it!
I accepted my first teaching position as a fifth-grade teacher and, even though I've changed schools, I am happy to still be teaching fifth-grade!
I have also been a middle-school track coach and a swimming coach for ages 5-18.

Beginning Consonant Digraphs Intensity Board
Intensity Boards are excellent tools for drilling and assessing students for fluency on targeted skills. After falling in love with the simplicity and accuracy of the tool for high-frequency word practice, I designed my own intensity boards to align with the Triumphs- Quick Phonics Screener (QPS).
