About the store

I have been teaching science for 27 years and have my Masters in Secondary Education and have been Nationally Board Certified since 2012. I have taught IB level biology, college level physiology and biology, as well astronomy, environmental science, chemistry and physics. Currently, I am teaching Biotechnology, Advanced Biotechnology and two University of Washington courses in Washington State.

Science is full of new vocabulary and concepts. I find that using concept maps with students helps them to organize information and helps me to identify gaps in their understanding. I use this guide at the beginning of the year to help my students.

Teaching style

Hands-on and investigative. I rarely lecture in my class. My style is very interactive and I need my students to be "working"! My classroom is set up for group work and enlist many different strategies and activities to facilitate effective group work in my classroom.
