About the store

Experience

I began my teaching career in a Pre-K classroom before transitioning full time to a special education role. My teaching career has allowed me to serve students in public, charter, and private settings across multiple states. I have extensive experience with students with Autism as well as students with significant behavioral challenges. I worked to co-create and deliver Autism PDs staff on multiple campuses and also worked with the Safe Schools NOLA team to create more trauma informed approaches to educating ALL students.

Teaching style

I am a hands-on educator and an interventionist at heart. I am constantly looking for ways to improve the educational experience to reach all students. I use data to drive instruction daily and have relied heavily on various data collection tools.

My own education history

I studied Early Childhood Education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I added supplemental licenses in Special Education a few years later.

Additional biographical information

I have spent many hours creating data collection tools to track IEP, 504, intervention, social, and behavioral goals/objectives. If I could create a form that was easy to understand and use, I found my team was better able to accurately track a target. This allowed them to have concrete examples to bring to parents or to student academic or behavioral referral meetings.
