About the store
I started my teaching career in Central New York, working in both an urban school and then a rural school as a reading assistant. After that, I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and taught kindergarten before moving to 2nd grade. For the last 5 years I have worked as an interventionist and an instructional coach, mostly focusing in supporting math instruction. I've done a little bit of everything, and loved all of it!

Experience

I started my teaching career in Central New York, working in both an urban school and then a rural school as a reading assistant. After that, I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and taught kindergarten before moving to 2nd grade. For the last 5 years I have worked as an interventionist and an instructional coach, mostly focusing in supporting math instruction. I've done a little bit of everything, and loved all of it!

Teaching style

I believe in student centered lessons and classrooms. I try to talk as little as possible, and allow my students to lead their discussions and ideas. As a math interventionist, I try to refrain from saying if students are right or wrong, and instead we discuss the strategies they have, both fostering a growth mindset and allowing them to discover and correct their own mistakes along the way. I think that reflective and active students make the best learners!
