I have been a private math tutor for 20 years. This is now my 6th year teaching high school. I have taught Algebra 2, Geometry, Precalculus, Secondary Math 2. This year I am teaching Secondary Math 3 Honors, Precalculus, Math 1010 and Math 1050.
Worksheet and Key with 33 problems Multiplying, Dividing, Adding and Subtracting Rational Expressions. This was made for Secondary Math 3 Honors and can be used for Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, etc. Meets CCSS: A.APR.7.
Worksheet and key with 52 problems involving multiplying and factoring polynomials. Identities such as perfect square trinomial, difference of squares, cubic polynomials, sum and differences of cubes, and sum of squares are used to multiply and factor the polynomials. Secondary Math 3 Core Standards include: A.APR.4, A.APR.5, and N.CN.8
Notes, homework and key with 24 problems that contain writing polynomials in standard form given complex and real zeros and their multiplicities, finding the zeros of polynomials (real and complex), and writing polynomials in factored form. This was written for Secondary Math 3 Honors can also be used for Pre-Calculus, and Algebra 2. Meets CCSS: N.CN.8 and N.CN.9.
This is notes, worksheet and key with 16 problems. Questions contain using the Rational Zeros Theorem, finding rational zeros, upper and lower bounds, and using Descartes Rule of Signs. This was made for Secondary Math 3 Honors and can be used for Algebra 2, and Pre-Calculus etc. Meets CCSS: A.APR.1 & A.APR.3.
This is notes, worksheet with 18 problems and key. The topics include polynomial long division, synthetic division and the remainder theorem.
Common Core Standards: A.APR.1
Secondary Math 3 with Honors Topics Unit 2 is a complete booklet with notes, worksheets and keys. There are 13 sections all of which cover topics in the Common Core. Some included topics are operations with polynomials, the Remainder Theorem, polynomial identities, the Binomial Theorem, Rational Functions, Geometric series, sequences etc. Everything you need is here to teach Unit 2!
CCSS: A.APR.1, A.APR.2, A.APR.3, A.APR.4, A.APR.5, A.APR.6,
A.APR.7, F.IF7C, N.CN.8, N.CN.9, A.SSE.4, A.REI.2
In this project the students will use the Rational Zeros Theorem, Descartes Rule of signs, synthetic division, and upper and lower bounds to find all of the zeros (rational, irrational and complex) of a given polynomial function. They will also find other points on the graph of the function, and then graph the function - all without using a graphing calculator.
CCSS: A.APR.2, A.APR.3, F.IF.7c, N.CN.9
This assignment includes problems determining if functions are one-to-one, finding the inverse algebraically and determining the domain, and graphing inverses.
CCSS: F.BF.4
This is notes that discuss the definition of a function and properties of functions. A worksheet and a key which include problems finding domain, range, local extrema, asymptotes, and intervals where the function increases, decreases or is constant.
CCSS: F.IF.4, F.IF.5
This is notes, a worksheet assignment and key. The notes and assignment cover graphs of polynomial functions with odd and even degree, end behavior, multiplicity of zeros and how to find them algebraically and graphically. CCSS: (A.APR.3, F.IF.7)
This is notes, a worksheet and key that include problems writing sums using summation notation, finding sums of arithmetic and geometric sequences, and determining whether an infinite series converges and finding its sum.
CCSS: A.SSE.4
This is notes, a worksheet and a key. Practice problems finding the terms of geometric and arithmetic sequences, and recursive and explicit formulas for the sequences.
CCSS: A.SSE.4
This is a worksheet and key which is primarily a graphing calculator assignment. These are problems that familiarize the students with the properties of some of the basic functions. (Quadratic, cubic, absolute value, radical, linear, exponential, sine, and cosine, and greatest int. functions)
CCSS: F.IF.7b, F.BF.3
This is an assignment and key which include problems adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and composing functions, and finding their domain.
CCSS: F.BF.1, F.BF1c
This is notes for a lesson, an assignment and key. The assignment is practice exercises using the Binomial Theorem and Pascal's Triangle to expand binomials.
CCSS: A.APRN.5
Worksheet and Key with 20 problems of multiplying and dividing rational expressions. Made for Secondary Math 3 Honors, can be used for Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, etc. Meets CCSS: A.APR.7.
This is notes, a worksheet and key for topics in the Secondary Math 3 Common Core. The topics covered here are the Remainder Theorem, Polynomial Long Division, and Synthetic Division. The notes are an outline with some examples of how to do problems that are on the worksheet. With the notes and your knowledge as a Secondary Math Teacher everything is ready to go for this lesson. CCSS: A.APR.2, A.APR.6
