This worksheet was developed for an algebra 2 honors class. It focuses on common mistakes made by students such as multiplying before dividing when parentheses are used to indicate multiplication. The worksheet varies the type and emphasizes skills that will be necessary for future topics in the course.

A puzzle worksheet that scaffolds the process of solving quadratics using completing the square. (Determine the number needed to complete the square. Solve an equation by taking the square root. Solve a quadratic by completing the square.) Students solve the problem then cross off the letter associated with the answer in a list. When all problems are answered the remaining letters answer a riddle.

An additional practice puzzle solving linear equations. Problems involve parentheses, fractions, and decimals. The questions are arranged in a grid so that the solutions in rows and columns add to the same "magic" number. The puzzle format encourages students to check their work.
