About the store
I am a secondary math specialist for a large public Texas school district. I work with schools to implement PLCs, incorporate strategies in the classroom, and write curriculum for our district. I taught high school math for seven years in Texas before becoming a math specialist. I graduated in 2009 with my Bachelors in Arts in Mathematics from Trinity University. In 2010, I graduated with my Masters in Arts in Teaching also from Trinity. In the summer of 2013, I traveled on a Fulbright scholarship to Germany and learned a lot about curriculum, diversity, and differentiation. I love empowering teachers to build on their strengths and helping students make connections to what they’re learning. When I’m not teaching, you may find me with my two boys and husband, at one of his basketball games, playing with our two pups, or making cake pops.

This project is to be used with the Do Ink app. I created this as an end of year review project for Algebra I, but the topics can be edited for any content. Students will record videos against a green screen (or a green sheet/butcher paper) to display pictures that depict their learning. Cognitive Group Work Roles
Do you use roles when putting students in groups? While I think roles like "supply manager" and "time keeper" are important for classroom management, they are finite tasks and don't have a large impact on learning. Use these cognitive roles with sentence stems to help students achieve your learning target for the day. Print the second side if you would like to use the active roles for classroom management purposes.

A.5A Solving Equations with Variables on Both Sides and Distributive Property
This includes self paced, guided notes and a quiz. The notes include hints for solving each skill: solving one step equations, two step equations, multi-step, and distributive property. Print the pages on colored paper and have students work to complete each skill. Then, students will do the quiz for assessing TEKS A.5A Solving equations with variables on both sides and using distribute property.

There are 5 slides (and one introductory slide) made as check-ins and/reflections for students to build the 5 different SEL competencies as defined by CASEL. Each slide is editable and can be used virtually on Jamboard or Slides, or printed for paper to pencil use. Lastly, refer to my Explicit Dialogue sample prompts as a way to craft your language when using these with students. *When editing, please keep all citations and references.

This activity is an investigation to having students apply mean, median, and mode through the popular game of Wordle. Students will play Wordle and then discuss how it relates to statistics. Students will then apply and discuss the significance of mean, median, and mode related to the game. Finally, students will practice with sample problems.
