The first page can be used as a personal anchor chart to remind them of the steps to simplify fractions. Other pages focus on specific patterns in numbers I wanted my students to recognize when they simplify fractions. The students in my class have been struggling with simplifying fractions. I created this as an intervention for my lower students to help them get used to listing the factors of a given number. The students must list the factors in order, and then identify if the number is prime, composite or neither.
I created this as an extension activity for my math lessons. My students love creating their own anchor charts and posters to demonstrate their knowledge of a topic. I believe that sometimes, students can learn better from their peers than they can from me. Their peers may explain things in a way that makes more sense to them.
