About the store
I have four years of classroom teaching experience in both special education and inclusive classroom settings. For two years, I served as a 3rd-grade learning specialist in Boston, where I provided targeted reading and math support, ensured students met their IEP goals, tracked data, differentiated instruction, and implemented accommodations. I also led IEP meetings and pulled small groups for students needing extra support, regardless of whether they had an IEP or 504 plan. After that, I spent two years as a lead classroom teacher in an inclusion classroom in New York City, working with both general education students and those with special needs, continuing my dedication to differentiated instruction and individualized supports. Additionally, in my current role as an academic specialist in education consulting in San Diego, I assess students to determine their unique learning needs and design materials that help them thrive.

Teaching style

My teaching style centers on making learning both fun and engaging. I believe that fostering a positive classroom environment—where it’s okay to make mistakes and learn from them—helps students build a growth mindset and a love for learning. I integrate social-emotional learning and life skills into my lessons so students develop not just academically but personally as well. I also prioritize creating culturally relevant materials that resonate with students’ lives and interests, ensuring that each lesson feels meaningful and engaging.

My own education history

I earned my undergraduate degree in Education from Trinity College in Connecticut and later completed my master’s degree in Special Education at Boston University. During college, I developed a full current events curriculum for an 8th-grade summer program that served students facing academic challenges, and I’ve been passionate about supporting diverse learners ever since. My background also includes years of tutoring both in high school and college, where I worked one-on-one with students across various subjects.
