This is a teacher resource Google Slides with project expectations and examples of topics that can be shared to your students and have them sign up for a research topic. The goal of this assignment is for students to become with an example of biotechnology and present to class so all students become familiar with various examples of biotechnology. In this activity, each of your students will create their own insect! I put all all kinds of arts and craft supplies, colored paper, and googly eyes and let them get creative. When creating their insect this guide shows a rubric and activity requirements such as where your insect will live, what it will eat, ways that it will thrive and survive. This activity has been a favorite amongst my students for a few years now!
In my Ag III class we raise broilers as a class and break down the process using the scientific method. This student worksheet resource will guide your students through using the scientific method in an inquiry lab. Students can record data, answer back ground research questions, and record observations throughout the 8 week process in this packet.
Have you ever poured yourself a cup of milk and instead of a smooth liquid, all you get is clumps? This is usually a sign that the milk has gone bad. And if it smells sour, it probably has. But the physical process of what happened to the milk is called coagulation, which is the mechanism that occurs when proteins in the milk clump. Try this activity to find out to show your students first hand how coagulation and other scientific concepts work through this hands-on lab!
To help students explore Ag careers I have my students take a career survey with Ag explorer and then complete this Ag Career Card activity. They must research a few things for the outlook and requirements for the career of their choice and highlight the information on "Card" or "Postercard". See example! This resource includes an example and a grading rubric that should be provided for students!
