This is a quick assessment students can take to test their knowledge on the following text structures in Nonfiction texts: Sequence, Compare and Contrast, Cause and Effect, Problem and Solution, and Description! Students will first define each text structure and then read several sentences to determine the text structure. At the end, there is an example for students to have that tell them how to explain "why" they know the text structure!

Students can practice writing mixed numbers on a number line by playing a game with their partner. Students roll a die to create a mixed number and then practice writing it on a number line. If students create an equivalent fraction, the game is complete. Works best if paper is laminated or placed in a sheet protector.
