About the store
I am currently a second year 2nd grade teacher. I absolutely love the diversity of my students and school site. I work at a low-income Title 1 school in Chino, CA. I aim towards providing my students with a quality education and helping and supporting fellow teachers, parents, and staff. I completed my student teaching with a Kindergarten and 4th grade class where I learned the different components of the lower and upper grades. Although there are differences, resources can be shared and useful among all grades.

Teaching style

My teaching style is fact/research based. I implement things that have been proven to work. Trial and error occurs with me and my students. If something isn't working, change it. It's as simple as that. My teaching approach is very student-centered. I allow students to have valuable input in class. Classroom management is a major component of learning, so I aim to perfect mine over the course of my career. Being a teacher is not easy, which is why it is important to collaborate and share resources and ideas.

Awards & shining teacher moments

During my first year teaching, my fellow 4th grade teachers and I created and directed a play with all of our students as actors. There were 100 roles in this play all pertaining to 4th grade history curriculum. I am honored that the local newspaper wrote an article about our play. Awarded the Rotary Grant of 2017

My own education history

As a child, I attended low-income public schools. During this time, I didn't have many resources, but my teachers were all wonderful and rewarded me with the best education possible. I graduated from high school a year early and began my journey into college. I attended Riverside Community College where I was awarded an Associates of Math and Science and an Associates of Humanities and Philosophy. I transferred to UCR and was awarded a Bachelors of Arts in Liberal Studies, a Masters of Education, and my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.

Additional biographical information

Besides teaching, I love painting, surfing, baseball, being outdoors, playing with my dogs, and drinking tea.
