My educational philosophy is rooted in progressive education—centering the whole child and emphasizing learning through exploration, inquiry, and real-world experiences to cultivate curiosity and innovation.
Much of my philosophy stems from working with students in high-needs settings, where I’ve seen the power of rigorous, meaningful, and student-centered learning. I design interdisciplinary, hands-on lessons that adapt to individual needs, while fostering connections between classroom content and the wider world. As an artist, my work as an educator naturally integrates the arts, offering creative outlets.
I also prioritize bringing students’ lived experiences—their “funds of knowledge”—into the classroom, creating space for transformation and growth. I actively promote a growth mindset, encouraging students to face challenges with resilience and confidence.
Over time, I’ve come to believe that diversity—in people, pedagogy, and opportunity—is the foundation of meaningful education.
