I enjoy creating research-based resources designed to help teachers and engage students.
Teaching style
I firmly believe that children learn best when they collaborate with one another and learn through hands on activities. I believe our teaching should align with the science of reading to ensure a strong foundation in their skills. I started as a substitute teacher 24 years ago and I loved being with the students and helping them learn. I began teaching 1st grade and I have since taught PK3, 1st, and 2nd grades.
My own education history
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and later went on to earn my master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I am a certified teacher in the areas of PK-3 through 6th grade, 4th through 8th ELAR and Social Studies, early childhood through 12th grade Special Education teacher, and a certificate to teach Gifted and Talented students. My master’s degree focuses on early childhood education including children's learning styles and brain development and factors that affects the way children learn.
