Can your students build a hundreds chart? My students love to build them as fast as they can to beat their friends. I keep a couple on the shelf that they choose to do during indoor recesses. This unit includes the pieces you need to create your own puzzle. They are in black and white so you can print them off on colored cardstock. This math work station focuses on the skill of adding ten. Students roll a dice, add ten and then cover the number. I have included an "I can..." student instruction card to build student independence. Buttons and Bears - this activity would be perfect on it's own or during a unit on Corduroy Bear by Dan Freeman. Everyone loves choice, and since some teachers prefer dice, while others prefer spinners, I have included both in this activity. To use this activity students roll (or spin) and graph the results. Then the information is used to tally on a chart. The goal is to build student knowledge of counting, graphing and tallying. Student instruction cards are included for all choices included.
