Experience

I teach high school and middle school history! I have taught both in brick and mortar schools in title 1 areas as well at schools with high affluence and GT populations. I am currently in a completely virtual school and focus on using my expertise in curriculum creation, ELL teaching and learning, and organizational management and change leadership to focus on not just engaging lessons but creating systems that help teachers focus on teaching and students focus on learning.

Teaching style

I use the work shop method, PBL, love and logic, open-ended questions, student driven backwards design, and blended learning to guide my instruction.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Worked on leadership teams at school and district level, curriculum teams to create and evaluate systems to support teachers in achieving standards, I lead online professional development programs for the district to showcase how to engage students more effectively and have served as a coach and mentor to other teachers.

My own education history

I have my undergraduate degree in history from the University of Colorado, a Masters of Science Degree in Education with concentrations in Organizational Management and Change Leadership and ELL Teaching and Learning, as well as over 100 credit hours of PD for accreditation in programs like Apple Vanguard teacher, Nearpod certified educator, Emergenetics certified educator, thinking maps certification and more.
