It is a project based on a game of cards about 7 families around the world (bantu, tirol, mexican, chinese, indian, arabic and eskimo families). There are individual and group activities. There are a lot of activities related to FOOD. First of all, a nice cover and two games that I use when they have free time. Second, I include two picture dictionaries. The type of activities I include are group and/or indidivual activities, mainly for reading and writing. It has some readings related to fruits around the world, breakfasts, where do fruits and vegetables grow, the history of the sandwich... There are also writing activities such as creating a sandwich (they can also cook it!),
Today we are going to be artists and we are going to mix animals and food and make a small description of our creation. I usually make a presentation in the school showing the art of my students. You can also make a class presentation of it. My students love it!
It is a game to review the numbers (1-30) and colours. I use it in small groups, one student says a number or a colour, and the others need to find it a hit it with the flyswatter. The first one hitting the fly, wins the fly. The game finishes when there are no more flies. I have cut the flies and lamminated them, so they last longer.
This game is for 2 people or groups. There are 24 different cards. Each player gets a set of cards (blue or orange) and displays it on the table. Then, they select one character (from the grey ones). Place a clipboard between you and your partner. Ask questions to help identify the opponents character (there is a picture dictionary with helpful sentences). Through a process of elimination, cover the characters with counters until you have guessed the opponents character.
The aim of this activity is to practise the food names and food groups. The cards are divided into 5 groups: fruit, vegetable, grain, dairy and protein. Each group is formed of 4 cards. It is a game to play in small group. MATERIAL: You need 20 sticks. In sixteen of them, you write the numbers from 1 to 16. You also include 4 special sticks: LOSE 1, STEAL 1, KABOOM (if a person takes this sticks, automaticaly loses all the sticks she/he has), SUPERKABOOM (everyone loses their sticks). INSTRUCTIONS: take one stick, and make a description of the person or cloth. If you take an special stick, you need to do what it says. If you do it right, you win the stick. Then, it is the turn
There are some readings about the Sun, Earth (it includes rotation and revolution) and Moon. There are also some comprehension activities related to the 3 topics. The first page is the cover, and the students can colour it. Then, there is a timeline so that the students are aware of their learning proccess. In the same page, there is a wordsearch so that early finishers can complete it. The next pages are for the readings and activities previously mentioned about the Sun, Earth and Moon.
