About the store

Experience

I am a teacher in a public school in North Carolina. For the last couple of years I have been teaching 6th grade Language Arts using the Common Core curriculum. By taking a balanced literacy approach, lessons are constantly using reading, writing, and creating to demonstrate mastery.

Teaching style

I promote a school environment that supports curiosity, student choice, and student goal setting. Many of these skills are supported and enriched by the technology rich approach, preparing them with real world skills.

My own education history

I attended Appalachian State University for undergrad, earning a degree in Middle Grades Education. After a few years in the classroom, I found that I missed the inquisitive culture of the university setting, so I pursued a Masters in Digital Teaching and Learning from NC State.
